The tower that grows inside

Gångaren residential tower comprises 77 apartments with a roof terrace, two basement floors, ground floor premises and an underground garage. Here, the focus has been to find housing solutions for different needs. The building consists of five different floor plans where the apartments become larger the higher up. At the very top we find duplex apartments with very generous living areas.

Another goal has been to maximize the window area in each apartment. Windows go from floor to ceiling and the floor plan has been designed to have a direct view outwards from the vestibule door. Many residential towers today only have ventilation hatches, but in Gångaren all rooms have at least one openable window. Several of the apartments have a cut-out balcony with a glass railing to provide as much view as possible. The roof terrace at the top is accessible to all residents.

The entrance has a floor and parapet of limestone and perforated copper sheets with a light installation. The result of a collaboration with liljewall 's interior architects and lighting designers.
The warm color scheme is consistent throughout both the interior and the facade.
The terracotta facade is divided into blocks according to the varying floor plans. It goes from a restrained to a deeper profile, which breaks down the scale of the building. The base is dark while the tower is lighter.
