Cyan Racing

Cyan Racing

In a black cube-shaped building in Mölndal, Cyan Racing is located. The most advanced racing cars on the market are developed here. The stripped-down architecture and strict straight lines create precision and order. Everything is well thought out, there is no place for unnecessary details, just like in the racing world where it is a prerequisite for winning. The business, which moved into the building in January 2017, has attracted great interest both nationally and internationally. Cyan Racing was nominated for the prestigious Guldstolen award 2020, through the Swedish Association of Architects, for its interior design concept.

From the road, you can already glimpse the cyan cars through the glassed-in showroom. The lack of colors, few materials and sharp lines give the cyan cars the space they need in their new home. At the entrance, you are greeted by a racing car reflecting in water.

Form, function and performance

Cyan Racing is the official motorsport partner of Geely Group Motorsport and runs the FIA World Touring Car Cup program for Lynk & Co. With thoughtful design and refined precision, Cyan Racing creates winning cars with just the right form, function and performance. The building’s architecture and interior design concept have been developed in the same way. Black, white and cyan blue are Cyan Racing ‘s color palette. The cyan blue represents the racing cars, which catches the eye in the consistent, graphic surroundings. The material palette consists of glass, perforated natural anodized aluminum and small, tasteful elements of wood. We have worked closely with an ambitious and quality-conscious client throughout the project. It is stripped-down architecture that highlights the essentials.

The core

On the ground floor is the core of the workshop – Race-bay – where the racing cars are manufactured. In this clinically white laboratory, fast cars with advanced mechanics are developed. The workshop extends from the ground floor up to the third floor and ends in a skylight where daylight shines in. This allows you to see into the workshop and get an insight into the core of the business from all three floors.

In the entrance hall, all of the company's trophies are displayed on a custom-built shelf that extends up two levels. In places, the shelf has glass panels for visual contact with the workshop behind, while a black staircase with sharp, straight lines leads up to the public area.
The third floor is divided into an internal office area and an external public area. The showroom has a black interior with floor-to-ceiling glass panels that provide a calm backdrop to the cyan blue cars. Here, national and international guests can get to know Cyan Racing 's brand and operations through the building's architecture.
On the top floor there is also a dazzling white conference facility that can accommodate up to 180 people.
In the dining room, you can sit inside a room within a room, built of wood, where more personal meetings can take place over a shared meal.
With the car simulator you can test the latest technology.

Precision and order characterize the architecture, exterior and interior. It is stripped-back Scandinavian architecture with strict straight lines, and the project was nominated for the 2020 Golden Chair for its interior design.
